BROKEN
BANGLES
Water drops stayed on the
edges of the green-grass, ready for the journey. The red sun came out
by breaking the lazy cold. The grasshopper didn't come out of his
dreams..A naughty crow disturbed the silent.
The man woke up..''oh!wake
up?!''his wife murmured from the kitchen. The 'taste' of the sleep
made him lazy. He took his toothbrush.
''Amma..''a strange voise. The man
looked outside..A small boy. His body enunciated hunger. There was a
deep sadness in his eyes...
''Oh,what is this?I can't understand
anything..''The man's wife said.
The man took some Iddlies and put
them in the boy's plate. The boy looked at him.
''Eat..'', the man said.
The boy finished the food
within seconds.
''Enough..?''.The man asked him.
''Yes'', he smiled.
''What's your name?''
''Kannan''-he said.
The boy ran outside of courtyard.
The man wondered.
''Where did the boy go?''He
returned to the house.
''Sir,please come..''
''Eh?that boy?!''
The man went near him. The boy gave
him a box. Anxious moment..the man opened it.
'Wow...a lot of broken bangles..It
was twinkling like pearls...'
''Sir,it's for you..it is my
collection..I kept it in my bag..Oh no,Not in my bag ..that bag..I
got it from the roadside.''
The boy said to the man a lot..The
man heard it,with smiling face..At last he told..
''Sir, bye..mummy is waiting for
me.''He ran.
The man looked at the
broken bangles...
''Oh,I can't understand
anything..are you mad?,to feed the orphan boys..''His wife said.
''He is not orphan,he has mother.''
''Oh,I don't know anything,Lord..!He
is the boy who stolen your new footwear yesterday.''
''Eh?''The man wondered..
His eyes became red...He ran to the
road...The boy was playing with a baby..
''You...''The man shouted. He beat
him.
''Oh sir,don't beat me..please....''
''You thief..''
The boy cried aloud. The man
returned home angrily. He threw the box of bangles....'Dhap..'
''Eh?What is it?”'
There was a pair of foot-wears
hidden between the bangles and also a letter..
''Sorry sir..''
Tears dropped on the paper..ink
mixed with tears...The paper became gloomy;his mind also...
